Ongoing Insulin & Diabetes Support Programme
Diabetes is a silent epidemic in rural Pakistan, with many patients unable to afford the insulin injections they need to survive. AIBF's insulin support programme addresses this crisis on two fronts. First, 300 insulin vials were supplied to Mehta Dispensary Bhera, ensuring a steady supply for the dispensary's diabetes patients who rely on regular injections. Second, AIBF handles multiple individual cases each month — purchasing insulin, syringes, and blood sugar monitoring strips for patients who present at the Bhera office or are referred by local doctors. The total monthly expenditure on diabetes support exceeds Rs 15,000, covering both institutional supply and individual patient needs. Dispenser Naveed Shahzad at Mehta Dispensary maintains detailed records of every vial dispensed, ensuring accountability and preventing waste. This programme has been running continuously since mid-2025 and shows no signs of slowing — if anything, the need is growing as more patients are diagnosed through AIBF's free medical camp Bhera screening programmes. Diabetes management is a long-term commitment, and AIBF's consistent monthly supply distinguishes it from one-off charity Pakistan donations. Those who donate Pakistan their zakat for healthcare through this NGO Sargodha initiative can be confident their contributions save lives in rural welfare Punjab month after month. The programme is a direct example of how zakat distribution Pakistan can fund chronic disease management rather than just acute emergencies.
