A man in Bhera was trapped in a cycle of debt with no way out. AIBF's Qarz Hasna (interest-free loan) program intervened by purchasing a 100cc motorbike for Rs 60,000 from zakat funds. The bike remains registered in AIBF's name as an asset safeguard, while the beneficiary uses it to work as a Bykea courier/delivery rider — a rapidly growing gig economy platform in Pakistan. The arrangement requires him to earn his own motorcycle license (Rs 15,000) from his earnings, building accountability. Guarantors signed on stamp paper ensure the system works for everyone. This model was so successful that AIBF replicated it with a second motorbike for another debt-ridden individual in December 2025. The interest-free loan Pakistan model pioneered by AIBF through its Qarz Hasna program is a powerful example of how zakat distribution Pakistan can be channelled into sustainable livelihood solutions. By combining donate Pakistan funds with microfinance best practices, this NGO Sargodha initiative breaks cycles of bonded labour in rural welfare Punjab communities.
