Bhera Heritage Souvenirs: Tourism Products at Jamia Masjid

Bhera is one of the oldest living cities in Punjab, with a rich architectural heritage dating back centuries. AIBF recognized the potential for heritage tourism to both promote Bhera's cultural significance and generate funds for welfare programmes. In August 2025, coinciding with the Zahoor Auditorium inauguration, AIBF launched a curated range of Bhera heritage souvenirs including laser-engraved keychains featuring iconic Bhera landmarks, ceramic mugs with Jama Masjid artwork, decorative wall clocks, and a series of 5 collectible postcards showcasing Bhera's architectural gems. These products are displayed in a dedicated souvenir cabinet at Jamia Masjid Bhera and sold at 6 retail locations across the city, including shops near the bus stand and bazaar. All proceeds go directly to AIBF's welfare fund. The souvenir initiative serves a dual purpose: it raises awareness of Bhera's extraordinary heritage among visitors and generates a sustainable revenue stream for AIBF's charity Pakistan programmes. The postcards in particular have been popular with tourists and are used by AIBF in donor correspondence, creating a tangible connection between heritage preservation and rural welfare Punjab community development. This creative fundraising approach sets AIBF apart from other organisations in the NGO Sargodha ecosystem, demonstrating that charity Pakistan can be self-sustaining through innovative social enterprise models. Visitors who purchase souvenirs effectively donate Pakistan to AIBF's welfare fund with every purchase.
